Hey there TDM communication. My name is Alena Alasdar (she/her/hers)
I am an employee of Kyndryl (a brand new company that just announced their name 5 days ago). Basically IBM is cutting themselves in half and I'm going to the "new half".

I became interested in neurodiversity when a brain aneurysm bleed left me with special challenges. In time, with lots of love and support, I have went from Surviving to Thriving. An important part of that transition has been Gratitude which of course includes giving back.

I used to give back through participation in nonprofit organizations and charity walks but was run over by a car so long walks are no longer on my agenda.

Last year, to fight against increasing feelings of sadness and powerlessness brought on by the continuing pandemic, I turned my time and efforts to online giving back. My vision was to host a web site which would become a "gathering hub" for anyone with a need. It's taken a while but, to my great JOY, it's finally happening.

One of the groups that "found" the gathering place is a group dedicated to learning the Lakota language. Their focus is to save a dying language and the culture the language is a part of.

The second group that "found" the gathering place is a 12 Step recovery group focused on neurodiversity. They inspired me to dig in and research neurodiversity which led me here.

I really appreciate the tone of this site - the authenticity, inclusiveness and spirit of community. Eager to learn more.
